Voyage Chic: Travel in Style

"A vacation is what you take when you can no longer take what you've been taking."
- Earl Wilson

Are you going on vacation soon and don't know what to pack? Is the weather going to be cold one day and warm the next? The key is to enjoy the vacation and not worry about what to wear.

Here are some tips to help you pack so your prepared for everything.

Tip #1: Pay attention to fabrics
Nylon, lycra and spandex can be packed in a suitcase and come out wrinkle free. Look for fabrics that stretch and breathe like cotton knits or blends.

Tip#2: Colors should be basic
Black, white, khaki and of course your favorite denim jeans. But don't be afraid to add that little touch of color. The more basic pieces you have the more outfits you can make.

Tip#3: Layers
Along with the basics, pack at least two sweaters for the cool nights. I always recommend two sweaters and a blazer. The basic black blazer can be worn over a dress or jeans. Perfect for day or evening as well.

Tip#4: Maximum 3 pairs of shoes
Shoes are usually the biggest problem. We pack a decent amount of outfits but the triple amount of shoes we need. Stick to the maximum of three pairs of shoes rule. Comfort shoes for daytime trips, flip flops and a dress pair.

Tip#5: Dress like yourself
Your probably thinking well this sounds obvious, but many people do it. Why be uncomfortable on a relaxing vacation? The most common mistake is packing the outfit and then you realize your one outfit short because you hate it.

By now you should be ready to go for that sweet beach vacation you have been waiting for.
