Fashion Rules: White Jeans

I may have blogged about this already but feel that it’s important and its still a touchy subject. White jeans. Ok, maybe touchy was the wrong word but it is a fashion trend where women are still a little unsure of. When do you wear white jeans? What is that Labor Day rule? What looks good with white jeans? So many questions but you don’t need to worry! In fact, after reading this you will probably want to go buy a pair.

The biggest question about white jeans, can you wear them after Labor Day? Truth is, you can wear them any time! Wear your white jeans all year round. Labor Day is a holiday for workers not for your calendar on when to pack up your white jeans. Where your jeans in the winter, change your flip-flops to an ankle boot and add a blazer to the tank top. The key is to add layers for winter. So keep the white jeans in your closet. Don’t pack them away.

Do you want to wear your white jeans in spring? You can! It’s warm, but not warm enough for open toe shoes so wear them with a pair of ballet flats. It’s comfortable yet still dressy casual for work or for that special lunch date with your friends.

You can wear white all year long! Add a few dark colors for a winter feel. White goes with any color. Add a vibrant pink or mint colored blazer for spring or a dark plum blouse for winter. Play around with your color palette for the season, keeping white your blank canvas. Begin with your shirt, shoes then accessorize.

So the answer is there aren’t any rules on your white jeans. The rule is to wear it all year round. Over time the rule has been fading away but women are still scared to wear it past Labor Day. If you feel nervous wearing white, start small with accessories. Go out and pick a pair of your favorite white jeans. Have fun with fashion and eliminate those rules.

Beauty: Hand Scrubs

Are your hands dry? Rough? Do they feel like sand paper? Do you hate the smell of a nail salon? Don’t run to get a manicure. The harsh chemicals are bad for your skin and could create a sever reaction. Save your money and create your hand scrub at home. It’s easy and doesn’t break the bank. Takes a few minutes before you go to bed and you will wake up with beautiful soft hands. You can use these scrubs on your feet too!

So, summer is right around the corner its time put those harsh chemicals aside and put those natural oils back in.

Buy yourself a small mason jar to store your homemade scrub for later use.

Ingredients you will need:

Sugar
Olive oil or coconut oil
Lemon juice and zest
Few drops of vanilla

Directions:
1.     Begin with a cup of sugar (you can add more for a larger quantity). This is for a test to see if your body reacts to the scrub. The sugar will be your exfoliater, to get rid of the dry, dead skin.
2.     Add enough olive oil so the sugar is no longer crumbly. This will be your moisturizer. Coconut oil will be a bit thicker so you might not need as much.
3.     Next add the juice of one lemon. This will give it a nice clean scent and be a cleanser for your skin.
4.     Vanilla extract is optional. If your using coconut oil then I suggest not to use vanilla. This is strictly for the scent.
5.     Mix it all together and you have your own scrub.

You may need to mix the scrub before use, as the oil may separate from the sugar. This is a good natural way of softening your body and getting rid of that dead dry skin.
